The 4 AI Terms Glossary
Context window, tokens, MCP and agents in plain English. What each one means, the mistake it explains, and what to do differently.
What’s inside
- 11. Context window
- 22. Tokens
- 33. MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- 44. Agents
🧠 Four terms you will hear every week. Each one below gets a plain English definition, the mistake it explains, and the fix. No maths, no jargon.
1. Context window
What it is: everything the model can hold in its head at once. Your prompt, the files you dropped in, the whole conversation so far, and its own replies.
The mistake it explains: you have a brilliant chat for an hour, then the model starts contradicting itself and forgetting your rules. It did not get lazy. The window filled up and the earliest part of the conversation stopped counting.
What to do differently: start a new chat per task instead of running one endless thread. Put the rules that must never drop out into your Instructions or a Project, not into a message halfway up the chat.
That’s the first part. The rest of this guide is free too.
